Description

Jizo is commonly seen in Kyoto. Each neighborhood will have their own shrine to him to protect the area. His statues abound and is probably the most common Buddhist deity you will encounter. He is not often the god worshiped at temples, but rather he is out and about on the street protecting the common man. he often is portrayed with childlike features. he is often seen with real clothing draped on his statue.
